Recently someone close to me died, and the night before he died, an old neighbor saw that a very tall man in white came to visit him, picked him up and carried him away. The next day he died suddenly of a heart attack. He was old and much loved, hundreds came to his funeral. Unfortunately his daughter could not make it to the funeral in time. I had driven her to the airport, and she arrived the next day. She and many relatives would come every day to the cemetery, and pray at his grave.
She was there for seven days and was going to fly back the next day. On the seventh day she was alone at the cemetery, when suddenly behind her she heard her father call out her name. She turned around and no one was there. However she saw what she thought was her mother and brother praying at his grave. She looked away, and then looked back again. No one was at the gravesite praying. She later talked to her mother and brother, and they were not there.
She recently returned and told me about this, what I told her is angels rarely appear but they do appear more often around time of death, or when someone is in danger of death. You can read some accounts here: True Stories of People Who Have Seen Angels. In some cases they appear in ordinary human form. In other cases, they are seen as shining lights - here is one case where something was caught on video tape: The Light of an Angel caught on Video Tape. I just found another of a strange spherical light caught on security camera that entered a man's home as he was praying: see Christian Minister Catches Angel on Security Camera.
So as I was hearing this story of a possible angelic visitation at her father's funeral, it suddenly hit me. A day earlier, I had this very unusual dream of a female angelic being dressed in armor, who had told me her name was Onin and said I could find out more about her in the myths of Celtic legends. I soon identified her with the Celtic fairy Olwen who married a shepherd boy Eionin. In her name Onin she was calling herself after the shepherd boy Einion. And the story of Olwen and Eionin repeated itself in the dream even though I was unaware of this story - this is in the earlier blog post A Clairvoyant Dream of an Angel and a Celtic Fairy Tale. It was very puzzling, in the dream it was almost as if she was enjoying playing a game of "guess who I am."
In that dream, it begins as follows, here is exactly what I wrote:
"I drive a woman to the base of the mountain, and the road is blocked by a very thick cloud. She wants to pray to God at the edge of the cloud, so I leave her there. Several cars were parked at the edge of the cloud at the bottom of the mountain."
I then began to wonder, is the dream related to this woman's experience? I had actually driven her to the airport, and someone else had driven her to the cemetery, the dream was probably portraying that. Indeed, many people were praying during her father's funeral, and this was shown in the dream as many cars parked at the edge of the cloud for people that had come there to pray. It was crowded in the dream where there was trouble parking. It was a huge funeral. I asked her, what was the weather like when she heard her father's voice at the cemetery? She said it was cold and foggy.
So I am beginning to think this female angel that appeared in my dream is a guardian angel of sorts. The dream pointed me to the Celtic fairy Olwen, one thing did not fit: the Celtic fairy Olwen was certainly not a female in knight's armor as portrayed in the dream. I felt that this angel was masking her identity, and enjoyed doing it - either by covering herself up with a cloud, or hiding herself in armor, or giving me mythical fairy tales.
All of these or what I call "masks" which angels use to hide their identity, and Swedenborg confirms that angels indeed do this. The story of Olwen and Einion was once used by J.R.R. Tolkien in his work Simarillon, which I had also pointed out earlier in the post A Clairvoyant Dream of an Angel and a Celtic Fairy Tale. As I was looking for women in knight's armor, I then realized one I completely missed: Eowyn, daughter of Theoden from Lord of the Rings, again by J.R.R. Tolkien. Yet again another word play. Eowyn is close to the name Olwen. The dream was combining elements from the story of Culwch and Olwen, Olwen and Einion, and now Eowyn from Lord of the Rings.
And for those of you who don't know, Eowyn dresses herself up in knight's armor and hides her identity so she could ride with her father Theoden in the last battle at the siege of Minas Tirith. She portrays herself as a man, just as "Onin" would call herself by male names. In the last ride of Rohirim, Eowyn sees her father Theoden fall in battle. For those of you don't remember the story of Eowyn I am talking about, its the one of the battle between Eowyn and the Witch-king of Angmar. If you haven't seen the movie Return of the King, do not watch the following scene:
The connection is obvious. In the book, Eowyn is unknown until she takes off her helmet and reveals her identity. In the dream Onin kept thinking about taking off her armor to show me her beauty. She was really eager to show me what she could do with her sword.
I am now beginning to think Onin is a guardian angel, who was perhaps sent to protect this woman's father at death from any evil spirit who would want to draw him away from heaven. He was not religious, but he was a good man. There is a constant battle over the souls of men between the forces of light and those of darkness. Her father's death was very hard on her. This is a guess of mine, but compare this with a statement by Swedenborg about a certain class of defending angels:
"There are some societies that defend novitiate spirits, or those who have come recently from the world, from infestations by evil spirits; some that are near those who are in the lower earth; and also some that are near those who are in the hells, and restrain them from tormenting each other beyond the prescribed limits" (Heaven and Hell, n. 391).
What of Eowyn plunging her sword into the face of the Nazgul? There is actually a severe form of punishment for evil spirits that desire revenge upon others:
"Those who are tenacious of revenge and who hold themselves greater than all others, regarding them as of no account in comparison with themselves, suffer the punishment of tearing, after this manner: they are disfigured in face and body until there is scarce any human appearance left; the face becomes like a broad round cake, the arms look like rags and these being stretched out, the man is whirled around on high and all the time toward heaven, while his character is proclaimed in the presence of all until shame penetrates him to the inmost" (Heavenly Arcana, n. 956)
As for the dream, why does the angel first appear as a cloud? This has to do with one's spiritual state. Angels of a lower heaven cannot see angels in the higher heavens, as their view is obstructed by a cloud:
"Angels of a lower heaven cannot speak with angels of a higher one; and even when they look toward them, they do not see them, their heaven appearing like a cloud over head" (Heaven and Hell, n. 209)
This seems to be the more plausible reason, thus Onin was happy she was able to manifest in human form in the dream. I had my doubts if an angel visited me in a dream, but I now think that is indeed the case as it makes sense now. Tolkien was a Catholic, and used many symbols to portray the heavenly battle between good and evil. It is known he even drew influence for his stories from some of his dreams, and seems to have tapped into something deeply spiritual. This is not the first time I have had a clairvoyant dream related to Lord of the Rings - see The Hidden Secret of the Lord of the Rings. If any of you reading this have had what you think angels appearing in dreams, giving information that you did not know before, drop me a note.
The civil war in Syria is just never ending, and in the last few days I realized that there is a prophecy of Nostradamus predicting this event. Most of the prophecies of Nostradamus are written in an obscure style, and as most do not include a date the recognition of the fulfillment of the prophecy takes place after the event (however there are exceptions, see Nostradamus and the Year 1999 for a prediction of America as the king of terror). Obscure names are mentioned throughout the quatrains, but after the event takes place the name makes perfect sense - often referring to a key personal name, or key geographic place name that is just beyond coincidence. I covered many of these, beginning with the religious wars of the 16th century up until the French Revolution in my book, The Decoded Prophecies of Nostradamus. The prophecies always cover key events or turning points, and as the civil war in Syria has escalated I thought I would get this particular prophecy out now in public view, because the media is full of propaganda and does not tell the public what is really happening in front of our eyes.
I should point out here, that from my biographical research into Nostradamus, he did not always personally know of the future. This becomes readily apparent to anyone who examines his yearly almanacs. Many assume he used astrology to make his predictions but that is not the case - he would enter a trance like state, and out came these strange writings from his visions which did not always make sense to him, as they are highly symbolic. The quatrain I wish to discuss is I-87 - below is the original French, followed by the English translation:
1:87 Ennosigée feu du centre de terre
Fera trembler au tour de cité neufve:
Deux grands rochiers long temps feront la guerre
Puis Arethusa rougira nouveau fleuve.
Earth-shaking fire
from the center of the earth
Will cause the tower of the new city to tremble:
Two great rocks will make war for a long time
Then Arethusa will redden a new river.
The word "earth shaking" is from Latin Ennosigaeus, which is actually an epithet of Neptune, god of the sea. Nostradamus always uses Neptune to symbolically represent a sea power. This particular quatrain was misinterpreted as referring to the attack of September 11, where "center of the earth" was taken to mean the World Trade Center. While it is tempting to apply it to the attack of September 11, objectively the quatrain is referring to a deep sea earthquake followed by the eruption of a volcano. Before 2011 I had written, "This will be fulfilled in a future cataclysm involving an earthquake and the eruption of a volcano."
I recently realized that Neptune is not only the god of earthquakes, but also of tsunamis which are often triggered by an earthquake. Neptune was closely associated with Poseidon, the same god who causes the sinking of Atlantis into the sea by an earthquake. Both Poseidon and Neptune used a trident as a weapon (from the Wikipedia entry on Trident):
Poseidon, as well as being god of the sea, was also known as the "Earth Shaker" because when he struck the earth in anger he caused mighty earthquakes and he used his trident to stir up tidal waves, tsunamis and sea storms.
Nostradamus writes on the first line "Earth shaking fire from the center of the earth," Here is a map showing the location of the underwater earthquake of Mar. 11, 2011 which created a tsunami which hit Japan:
A volcano has erupted in Japan, compounding the problems in the disaster-ravaged country.Following Friday's megaquake and resulting tsunami which took the lives of thousands along the east coast, the Shinmoedake volcano in south-western Japan erupted yesterday, sending ash and rock over two miles into the air. The explosion shattered windows as far as four miles away, adding to the terror the country has suffered over the past few days.
It states that it is not known if the volcanic eruption was associated with the earthquake. However there could be another interpretation: the "earth shaking fire from the center of the earth" could refer to the melt-down of the Fukushima nuclear reactor itself. Three of the four cores suffered a complete meltdown, and in fact melted down somewhere beneath the earth. As to exactly where they are, no one knows. From Was Fukushima a China Syndrome?
The China Syndrome refers to a scenario in which a molten nuclear reactor core could could fission its way through its containment vessel, melt through the basement of the power plant and down into the earth. While a molten reactor core wouldn’t burn “all the way through to China” it could enter the soil and water table and cause huge contamination in the crops and drinking water around the power plant. It’s a nightmare scenario, the stuff of movies. And it might just have happened at Fukushima.
This is an example how a short four line quatrain compresses a lot of information through symbolism, containing multiple levels of meaning. The next line states that the earthquake would cause "the tower of the new city to tremble." And indeed, the earthquake was so strong it caused the towers in Japan to sway, here is a video of it:
Next the quatrain states that two great rocks will make war for a long time. This could refer to the earthquake itself, where two plates collide causing the earthquake, which would be unusual because in the day of Nostradamus nothing was known of plate tectonics. It could also refer to a war between two continents.
The last line then concludes, "Then Arethusa will redden a new river." Arethusa was a nymph and daughter of Nereus, and thus one of the Nereids who accompanied Poseidon. She was
chased by the river god Alpheus, and was changed by Artemis into a stream which
ran under the sea until its waters rose again in the island of Ortygia, near
Syracuse. However, according to the
classical writer Apollodorus Arethusa was one of the nymphs called the
Atlantides or Hesperides, who guarded the golden apples. The blessed isles of Hesperides were located
by some to the West beyond the Atlas mountains.
Hesperides is a term used by Nostradamus throughout the quatrains to refer to America. This, in combination with the reference to Neptune or Poseidon, and the inference to Atlantis, shows that this is definitely referring to the U.S. as a major sea power.
So this definition of Arethusa is well known. What is not so well known is that Arethusa happens to be the name of an ancient Roman city. The modern name of this city is Al-Rastan, in the Homs governate of Syria. Here is a photograph of Al-Rastan in the background, behind the Orontes river:
Here is where things get interesting. In 1960, this location became the site of the Al-Rastan Dam. The Orontes river runs right through the middle of Syria:
So, why is the city of Al Rastan in Syria so significant? Right after the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, in April a popular uprising arose in Syria, which Assad suppressed blaming foreign elements, and unfortunately reacted with deadly force leading to many civilian deaths. Later a coalition of anti-government groups formed. Fighting continued, until everything culminated in a major battle at Al-Rastan (from Syrian Civil War):
By September 2011, organized units of Syrian rebels were engaged in an active insurgency campaign in many different parts of Syria. A major confrontation between the FSA and the Syrian armed forces occurred in Rastan. From 27 September to 1 October, Syrian government forces, backed by tanks and helicopters, led a major offensive on the town of Al-Rastan in Homs Governorate, in order to drive out army defectors. The 2011 battle of Rastan between the government forces and the FSA was the longest and most intense action up until that time. After a week of fighting, the FSA was forced to retreat from Rastan. To avoid government forces, the leader of the FSA, Colonel Riad Asaad, retreated to Turkey. Many of the rebels fled to the nearby city of Homs.
And so begin's Turkey's support for the rebellion against Assad in Syria. And Russia has concentrated on bombing the Homs Governorate. But where is America in all of this? The U.S. is right in the middle of this war, and is directly responsible for allowing it to continue this long rather than seeking a diplomatic settlement.
U.S. INVOLVEMENT IN THE SYRIAN UPRISING
U.S. policy has been to repeat the mantra "Assad must go." But there is no viable candidate to take his place. Look at what happened in Iraq and Libya, how destabilized they became after their dictator was overthrown. U.S. policy is the same for Syria. From U.S. Caught Faking it in Syria:
The US strategic goal in Syria is not as your faithful mainstream media servants... might have you believe to save the Syrian people from the ravages of the long-standing Assad dictatorship, but rather to heighten the level of internecine conflict in that country to the point where it will not be able to serve as a bulwark against Israeli regional hegemony for at least another generation.
The Atlantic, in 2008, and the U.S. military’s Armed Forces Journal, in 2006, both published widely circulated maps that closely followed the outline of the Yinon Plan. Aside from a divided Iraq, which the Biden Plan also calls for, the Yinon Plan calls for a divided Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria. The partitioning of Iran, Turkey, Somalia, and Pakistan also all fall into line with these views. The Yinon Plan also calls for dissolution in North Africa and forecasts it as starting from Egypt and then spilling over into Sudan, Libya, and the rest of the region.
To quote directly from Yinon, in an article published in the 1980s:
The dissolution of Syria and Iraq later on into ethnically or religiously unqiue areas such as in Lebanon, is Israel’s primary target on the Eastern front in the long run, while the dissolution of the military power of those states serves as the primary short term target. Syria will fall apart, in accordance with its ethnic and religious structure, into several states such as in present day Lebanon, so that there will be a Shi’ite Alawi state along its coast, a Sunni state in the Aleppo area, another Sunni state in Damascus hostile to its northern neighbor, and the Druzes who will set up a state, maybe even in our Golan, andcertainly in the Hauran and in northern Jordan.
Moreover, the Yinon plan calls for the dissolution of Iraq into three primary states: the Shiites in the south, the Sunnis in the west, and Kurds to the north:
Iraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other, is guaranteed as a candidate forIsrael’s targets. Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria. Iraq is stronger thanSyria. In the short run it is Iraqi power which constitutes the greatest threat to Israel. An Iraqi-Iranian war will tear Iraq apart and cause its downfall at home even before it is able to organize a struggle on a wide front against us. Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and willshorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and in Lebanon. In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman timesis possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul, and Shi’ite areas in the south will separate from the Sunni and Kurdish north.
That plan was to use a number of different factors to create paranoia within the Syrian government; to push it to overreact, to make it fear there’s a coup… so in theory it says “We have a problem with Islamic extremists crossing over the border with Iraq, and we’re taking actions against them to take this information and make the Syrian government look weak, the fact that it is dealing with Islamic extremists at all.”
The media makes it look like the Arab Spring was "spontaneous." The fact of the matter is that U.S. Groups helped fund and encouraged these uprisings. From the New York Times, U.S. Groups Helped Nurture Arab Uprisings:
Even as the United States poured billions of dollars into foreign military programs and anti-terrorism campaigns, a small core of American government-financed organizations were promoting democracy in authoritarian Arab states. ...as American officials and others look back at the uprisings of the Arab Spring, they are seeing that the United States’ democracy-building campaigns played a bigger role in fomenting protests than was previously known, with key leaders of the movements having been trained by the Americans in campaigning, organizing through new media tools and monitoring elections.
After the uprising in Libya, on September 11, 2012 there was an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi in Libya, which led to a lot of accusations going back and forth as to who knew what. But what the media did not tell the public at that time is the reason it was attacked: CIA operatives were at Benghazi, arranging for the transfer and shipment of arms from Libya to Syria. From Benghazi Is a HUGE Scandal … But Not For the Reason You Think:
A highly classified annex to the report, not made public, described a secret agreement reached in early 2012 between the Obama and Erdoğan administrations. It pertained to the rat line. By the terms of the agreement, funding came from Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabia and Qatar; the CIA, with the support of MI6, was responsible for getting arms from Gaddafi’s arsenals into Syria.
So the civil war rages on, and with Russian involvement the U.S. and its proxy allies are shipping ever more weapons to the rebels, some of whom have ties with terrorist organizations associated with Al-Qaeda. And this, of course, goes against all international laws. Casualty estimates range between 140,000 to 330,000, with millions of refugees displaced from their homes.
SOME WEIRD NEWS ABOUT THE JAPANESE TSUNAMI AND FUKUSHIMA DISASTER
Today, Dimitar Ouzounov at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland and a few buddies present the data from the Great Tohoku earthquake which devastated Japan on 11 March. Their results, although preliminary, are eye-opening. They say that before the M9 earthquake, the total electron content of the ionosphere increased dramatically over the epicentre, reaching a maximum three days before the quake struck. At the same time, satellite observations showed a big increase in infrared emissions from above the epicentre, which peaked in the hours before the quake. In other words, the atmosphere was heating up.
These kinds of observations are consistent with an idea called the Lithosphere-Atmosphere-Ionosphere Coupling mechanism. The thinking is that in the days before an earthquake, the great stresses in a fault as it is about to give cause the releases large amounts of radon.
So while they theorize it was radon released from the fault stress, this is not proven. And one would have to ask how could this happen considering the fault was underwater. Here are images showing the images of the atmosphere heating up:
Major aspects of the program are kept secret for alleged reasons of “national security.” Yet there is no doubt that HAARP and electromagnetic weapons capable of being used in warfare do exist. According to the official HAARP website, “HAARP is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes.”...
The HAARP website acknowledges that experiments are conducted which use electromagnetic frequencies to fire pulsed, directed energy beams in order to “temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere.” Some scientists state that purposefully disturbing this sensitive layer could have major and even disastrous consequences. Concerned HAARP researchers like Dr. Michel Chossudovsky of the University of Ottawa and Alaska’s Dr. Nick Begich (son of a US Congressman) present evidence suggesting that these disturbances can even cause tsunamis and earthquakes.
Japan’s record purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG) show no sign of slowing as the country continues to try and fill the energy shortfall created when it took its nuclear plants offline three years ago.
With its lack of substantial domestic sources of fossil fuel, Japan is cripplingly dependent on imported oil, coal, and natural gas. Before the 2011 meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant, Japan was the third largest nuclear generator in the world, behind the United States and France, with 54 reactors.
Those reactors were critical to cutting Japan’s fuel import bills, and accounted for 20 percent of the country’s electricity generation. But post-Fukushima, the sum total of Japan’s nuclear power plants were shuttered and imports of fossil fuels, particularly LNG, have skyrocketed.
And would be the motive? The author concludes this:
Why would the US attack Japan using HAARP? Japan is producing vehicles that don’t use any gasoline – not a drop. No gasoline means zero emissions and zero oil revenue. The US attacked Iraq and Libya for one reason only – OIL! Why spend $trillions on wars of terror to seize control of the oil in the Middle East if the demand would drop drastically with the introduction of vehicles that uses zero gasoline? The US used HAARP in an attack against Japan to protect its financial interests in the Middle East. The Japan Earthquake was created to kill the production of Japan’s all-electric and hydrogen fueled cars.
Our spiritual journey in life is like climbing a mountain: each step we take we gain a better understanding of the truth as we practice the truth in our lives. Those who know the truth, but do not practice it in their life, are those who are at the bottom staring at the mountain. But those who practice the truth are those who ascend the mountain.
The steps or degrees of one's spiritual advancement occur in several stages:
1. Knowledge of the truth. 2. Willing or doing according to the truth. 3. Affection for the truth, doing from the love for the truth. 4. Love of the will, from which all truth is known.
These stages of spiritual development are universal, and are described in a variety of ways in a symbolic manner in scripture, one of them by successive births of a generation. Swedenborg comments on this when describing the spiritual significance of Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah, the four sons of Leah by Jacob:
"Reuben signifies the truth which is the first thing of regeneration, or new birth; this is only as to knowledge, or as to knowing truth. Simeon signifies the truth which is the second thing of regeneration, or new birth; this truth is as to the will, or as to willing truth. Levi signifies the truth which is the third thing of regeneration, or new birth; this truth is as to affection, or being affected with truth, which is the same thing as charity. But Judah signifies good, which is the fourth thing of regeneration, or new birth, and this is the celestial of love. When the regenerate man, or he who is born anew, arrives at this stage, the Lord appears to him, for he has then ascended from the lowest step, as by a ladder, up to the step where the Lord is.
This also is the ascent which was signified by the ladder seen by Jacob in the dream, which stood upon the earth, whose top reached to heaven, and on which the angels of God ascended and descended, and above which stood Jehovah or the Lord... by conceiving and bearing, four times mentioned, is signified advancement from external to internal, or from truth to good, that is, from earth to heaven... Descent follows afterward, for man cannot descend unless he has first ascended. Descent is nothing else than looking at truth from good, as a man from a mountain, upon which he has climbed, views the things which lie beneath. That then he can comprehend in one view innumerable things more than they who stand beneath or in the valley, is manifest to every one. The case is exactly similar with those who are in good, that is, in love to the Lord and in charity toward the neighbor, compared with those who are only in truth, that is, in faith alone." (Heavenly Arcana, n. 3882.1-2)
Note that I have not said which truth by one ascends toward the Divine. That is because love in its nature is one, and many are the truths which lead to it. Religion by itself does not save a person, but only a life according to one's religion. Thus those who know nothing of a religion, and yet live a good life according to their conscience and the truth that they know, have a better capacity of reaching eternal life with the Divine than those who know and yet do not practice it:
"Good indeed in its essence is simply one, but it receives its quality from the truths implanted in it, and thereby becomes various. The truths which appear as truths to the Gentiles, are in general that they should worship some God, from whom they seek their good, and to whom they attribute it, and so long as they live in the world, they do not know that this God is the Lord; also that they should adore their God under images, which they account holy; besides many other things. Nevertheless, these things are no hindrance to their being saved equally with Christians, provided they live in love to their God, and in love toward the neighbor; for thus they have the faculty of receiving interior truths in the other life" (Heavenly Arcana, n. 3778)
For God, in his true essence, is Love itself, and those who practice love towards other are not only happy in this life, but will be happy for eternity. When one understands and then does this, one then reaches the top of the mountain.
The four horsemen of the Apocalypse appear in the final prophecy of the Bible, and there is much confusion as to what they mean. The book of Revelation is full of symbolism, and the tendency among fundamentalist religious leaders has been to interpret the book in a very literal way, trying to make the book fit historical and future events. The confusion can be summed up by looking at an article on BeforeItsNews - from The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse:
To the skeptic, these riders are nothing more than symbolic sound bites. To your average unstudied Christian, these four riders represent a mysterious symbolism that can’t be known. The Preterist and Amillennialist see them as either historic or figurative leaders who have long since come and gone. But to those who hold to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture view, we recognize these riders as those who will be unleashed after the church have been caught up to heaven during the 70th Week of Daniel.
So, overall, the book of Revelation or the Apocalypse is still a closed book. Other than historical interpretations, the tendency among Protestant churches is to always place things in the "future" - always future, but never applicable to our present day reality. Futurist interpretations are based on a false interpretation of the prophecy of Daniel 9 (the "70th week"), which happened to predict the exact year Jesus would appear and be rejected by the Jews over 500 years in advance. Also common among futurist interpretations of the Bible is a belief in a "rapture" in which believers are caught up in heaven, but in reality what the apostle Paul was seeing is an ascension of souls into the higher heavenly realms in the spiritual world (another topic for another day).
So its easy for a reader to get lost with the various opinions of men to interpret the book. But there is only one person who can interpret the book, showing that it could only be made known by Divine revelation:
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. (Rev. 5:1-5)
In other words, only Jesus Christ would reveal the contents of this book - the "Lion from the tribe of Judah," in the spiritual sense means by the power of the Divine Truth. The other higher spiritual meaning of the passage is that only God is allowed to explore the true spiritual state of each individual and the church on earth. For we all see people's outward actions, but no one can explore each person's internal intentions. Only God can explore the thoughts of each person, and from that foresee the future.
So among all the interpretations of the book of Revelation, the only one I have seen that explains the symbolism of the book of Revelation or the Apocalypse are the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. In 1745 his vision was opened, had an encounter with Jesus Christ, and while in waking vision in the spiritual world he would read scripture and the spiritual sense would be explained to him. And this Swedenborg stated was not from any spirit or angel, but from God, whom he saw as a central light in the heavenly world, in which was his visible form we know as Jesus Christ. The spiritual sense of scripture would be given to him by an internal perception of the truth.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. For this claim, we have 3 volumes of Apocalypse Revealed, preceded by six volumes known as Apocalypse Explained. The explanation is massive - the symbolism of each word, with its spiritual meaning, is always shown by referring to other portions of scripture. Before I knew about Swedenborg, I had read several attempts by many authors. They all failed, or were incomplete. Back before the internet was popular I managed to find an old copy of Apocalypse Explained in a university library, opened it, and was literally stunned - here it was, the entire Apocalypse explained in great detail. And it all made sense.
It was a mind shift. There is no literal rapture, but rather an ascension of souls caught in the middle world up into heaven in the spiritual world. There is no individual "Antichrist" that sets himself as god in a future temple in Jerusalem - but rather, there will be an antichristian system of thought that would become the center of worship in the very churches themselves. This anti-christian system of theology would regard evils as nothing, and evils can simply be "transferred away" without any reformation of one's life. And yet, with this shift in thinking, everything remains focused on the Lord and his spiritual kingdom in scripture.
It's a hard message. How does the present day church as it is on earth look in God's eyes? Is everything angelic and perfect?
Or, if one looks more closely in the mirror, one will find something else?
So let's take a look in the mirror.
THE RISE AND FALL OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
All religions go through dispensations, or world ages. At the end of an age, love and charity is replaced by selfishness and materialism, and truth becomes distorted with falsities until nothing of truth is left. There is no "end of the world" but rather an "end of an age." We are at the end of the Christian dispensation. This was preceded by the Jewish dispensation under Moses, which in turn was preceded by two other more ancient churches of the Middle East. There are fragments of this lost faith, but now distorted by idolatry and stories now regarded as myths. We are now at the end of the Christian dispensation, yet the promise is Jesus will be present with a remnant few who follow his commandments:
[Teach] them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matt. 28:20)
Unfortunately, the King James version mistranslates "end of the age" as "end of the world." So at what point in the time did the church on earth begin to deviate from what Jesus commanded? This actually happened very early on in the history of the Christian Church. The book of Revelation speaks of "the lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8). By that many theologians thought that referred to a second person of a trinity before creation. In reality, the "foundation of the world" in the spiritual sense represents the foundation of the present day Christian Church; the "lamb" is the Divine human of the Lord; to be "slain" means that the acknowledgement that Jesus very human became Divine was rejected. So this is not in regards just to the Jews of Jesus's day, but the present church, and this is readily apparent to anyone who examines the early theological debates which led to the church to split Jesus into a Divine and human nature. For by making his very human body Divine, one with his Divinity, is how the entire human race was saved. As He entered a human form under his control, so by His spirit he can enter each human being to help them resist sin and temptation through repentance.
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE FOUR HORSEMEN
The four horsemen of the Apocalypse represents the successive stages of the Christian Church, beginning to conquer falsity by the truth, and declining until there is nothing good and true left in it. Some have noted that the white horse is similar to the white horse at the end, and they do have a similar meaning. But the book of Revelation is strange: each time a seal of the scroll is broken and opened, out of the scroll pops out a horse. So why is there a horse popping out of a book? No one has been explain it. Its just weird.
The meaning of a horse coming out of a scroll or book becomes quite clear when reading the spiritual symbolism revealed to Swedenborg in his visions, but he demonstrates it by referring to other scripture:
I will smite every horse with astonishment, and every horse of the people with blindness (Zech. xii. 4). A horse in the spiritual sense is the understanding of the Word... (Apocalypse Revealed, n. 48)
Knowing that, other passages in scripture begin to make sense:
Because God has made her forget wisdom, nor has imparted understanding; at what time she raises herself on high, she scorns the horse and his rider (Job xxxix. 17, 18, etc).
Its a bit strange, but such symbolism is common in the spiritual world, where animals appear that represent each person's internal character. We say such things as "clever as a fox," or "he eats like an ox," or "low like a dog." In the spiritual world, horses represent one's understanding of the Word - understanding is above the level of mere knowledge and reasoning.
And this is why we so often find such strange language and metaphors or "figures of speech" in the Bible - for inspiration proceeds directly from heaven, and ultimately falls into objects we are familiar with - and these objects are symbols that correspond to the spiritual reality behind it. In most cases, the objects are in terms of the human language and culture, so that one can receive it. Thus in his spiritual visions, Swedenborg explained the reality of the book of the seven seals in the spiritual world:
"...it is to be known that such predictions were not seen and read in a book when its seals were opened, but were made manifest through the heavens from the Lord before the angels of the inmost heaven; and were represented in the ultimates of heaven by such things as are related in this chapter, namely, by horses of various colors, and afterwards by earthquakes, by the darkenings of the sun and moon, and by the falling of the stars to the earth." (Apocalypse Revealed, n. 369)
In the following, I will give a summary of the symbolism of each horse, but what is interesting here is that the sequential stages as shown in the Apocalypse for the end of the church follows exactly the sequeential stages for the end of the age as described by Jesus to his disciples in Matthew 24. Surprisingly, although Swedenborg interpreted both passages, he failed to note the correspondence between these two prophecies.
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE WHITE HORSE
The symbolism of "white" is easy - it signifies truth. Truth has the power of conquering and defeating what is false and evil:
And he went forth conquering and to conquer, signifies victory over falsities and evils for ever. Conquering and to conquer, is said, because he who overcomes in the world in spiritual combats, which are temptations, overcomes for ever; for the hells cannot assault any one who has overcome. (Apocalypse Revealed, n. 301)
This signifies the early stage of the Christian church at its beginning - the gospel was unadulterated by those seeking power, nor by external philosophies or paganism. It was simple: a baptism of repentance, and following Jesus by keeping the commandments. New light was given to the old ancient prophecies and myths, and representative worship was abolished.
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE RED HORSE
The red horse signifies the next stage of the Christian church, which began to suffer from internal disputes:
"And there went forth another horse that was red," signifies the understanding of the Word destroyed as to good and hence as to the life with them. "And unto him who sat upon him it was given to take peace from the earth," signifies the taking away of charity, spiritual security, and internal rest. "That they should kill one another," signifies intestine hatreds, infestations from the hells, and internal unrest. "And there was given unto him a great sword," signifies the destruction of truth by the falsities of evil. (Apocalypse Revealed, chapter 6)
This particular stage of spiritual development is described in the spiritual sense in Jesus discourse in Matthew 24, in which he describes successive stages in the decline of the church until the end of the age:
The disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what is the sign of Thy coming, and of the consummation of the age I And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled; for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. For nation shall be stirred up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. But all these things are the beginning of sorrows (xxiv. 3-8). They who keep in the sense of the letter cannot know whether these things, and those which follow in the chapter, were spoken concerning the destruction of Jerusalem and the dispersion of the Jewish nation, or concerning the end of days, which is called the final judgment; but they who are in the internal sense see clearly that the end of the church is here treated of, which end is what is here and elsewhere called the coming of the Lord and the consummation of the age. And because that is the end which is meant, it may be known that all those expressions signify things of the church; but what they signify may be evident from the several particulars in the internal sense — as when it is said that many shall come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and shall lead many astray; where name does not signify name, nor Christ Christ; but name signifies that by which the Lord is worshipped (n. 2724, 3006); and Christ signifies truth itself (n. 3009, 3010); thus it is meant that there would come those who would say, This is of faith, or This is true, when yet it is neither of faith, nor true, but false: that they should hear of wars and rumors of wars, is, that there would be disputes and strife concerning truths, which are wars in the spiritual sense; that nation should be stirred up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, signifies that evil would fight with evil, and falsity with falsity... (Heavenly Arcana, n. 3353.2)
This is the first state of perversion of the church, when disputes arise as to what is true or false. The next state (Matt. 24:8-14) also corresponds to the red horse of the Apocalypse, where people would turn against and hate what was good and true:
All these things are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you unto affliction and shall kill you; and ye shall be hated of all the nations for My name's sake. And then many shall be offended, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. But he who endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole inhabited earth, for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
By the words that precede and have been already explained (n. 3353-3356), was described the first state of the perversion of the church, which was, that they would begin no longer to know what was good and what true, but would dispute about it among themselves, from which falsities would originate. By the words now cited is described a second state of the perversion of the church, which is, that they would despise good and truth, and also turn away from them, and thus that faith in the Lord would expire, in proportion as charity should cease. (Heavenly Arcana, n. 3486-87)
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE BLACK HORSE
The black horse represents the next spiritual state of the Christian church - the internal disputes have ended, but in the place of disputes there is falsity put in its place - which is symbolized by the color of black - the opposite of white, which is truth:
"And when he had opened the third seal," signifies prediction respecting the state that next follows with those who are of the church where the Word is (n. 369); "I heard the third animal saying," signifies out of the inmost heaven from the Lord (n. 370); "Come and see," signifies attention and perception (n. 371); "and behold, a black horse," signifies the understanding of the Word destroyed in respect to truth (n. 372); "and he who sat upon him had a balance in his hand," signifies the estimation of truth from the Word in that state of the church (n. 373). "A measure of wheat for a denary, and three measures of barley for a denary," signifies that the genuine good of the church, as well as the genuine truth of the church, is of no account to them (n. 374); "and the oil and the wine hurt thou not" signifies that it is provided that the internal or spiritual sense of the Word should suffer no harm either in respect to good or in respect to truth (n. 375, 376). (Apocalypse Revealed, chapter 6)
Again, this corresponds with the next passage found in Matthew 24, verses 15-18:
When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation which was foretold by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, let him who readeth understand, then let them who are in Judea flee unto the mountains: let him who is upon the house not go down to take anything out of his house: and let him who is in the field not return back to take his garments.
According to the internal sense the signification is this: "When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation" signifies the vastation of the church, which occurs when the Lord is no longer acknowledged, consequently when there is no love and no faith in Him; also when there is no longer any charity toward the neighbor; and consequently when there is not any faith of good and truth. When this is the case in the church, or rather in the land where the Word is possessed and read — that is, when men are such in the thoughts of the heart, even if not such in the teaching of the lips — then there is desolation, and the particulars just now mentioned are its abomination; hence, when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, means when any one observes such things; what is to be done in such case, is told afterward (verses 16-18). (Heavenly Arcana, n. 3652)
The abomination of desolation signifies when there is no longer any truth in the church, or when the spiritual truth is no longer acknowledged in one's life - this corresponds to the black horse. Those who are in Judea who flee to the mountains do not concern the Jews, but rather those who are in love towards the Lord, the others are those who are in the good of charity or truth of doctrine - these will be protected, just as the internal truths of the Church will be protected (the oil and the wine) in the vision of the black horse.
The advice given here: even though the church itself may be corrupt at large, as individuals, maintain a life of usefulness, charity and love towards others and the Lord. Don't get distracted or misled by religious fundamentalism which stresses belief alone.
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE PALE HORSE
The pale horse represents the next spiritual state of the Christian church - in which there is no good, nor truth - or its not internally acknowledged in life among those who know. And without the protection of truth, evils of life begin to become dominate. Church is there as an external shell, but people will go do as they will as it has lost its moral and spiritual authority:
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse," signifies the understanding of the Word destroyed both as to good and as to truth. "And the name of him who sat upon him was Death, and hell followed with him," signifies the extinction of spiritual life, and hence damnation. "And there was given unto them power over the fourth part of the earth to kill," signifies the destruction of every good of the church. "With the sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the beasts of the earth," signifies by falsities of doctrine, by evils of life, by the love of self-life, and by lusts. (Apocalypse Revealed, chapter 6)
This corresponds with the next state in Matthew 24 concerning the end of the age: for when one knows the truth, but internally denies it, and goes against it in the way one lives, all that is holy becomes profaned and distorted. False religions and doctrines predominate, and religion becomes superficial. Thus Jesus says "woe to those who are with child" - signifying innocent ones who know no better will be spiritually destroyed. This is the time of "great affliction" - where internal spiritual truths are falsified and profaned. This will all happen from within the church, not outside the church - thus Jesus described false christs, who will attempt to deceive the elect.
INTERNAL SPIRITUAL STATES REVEALED
One can see, from the sample above, is that with the revelations shown to Swedenborg, even the most obscure passages of scripture become applicable to one's own life. The different spiritual stages of the Christian church is shown, how it declines from love and truth, to internal doubts about the truth, to aversion to what is good and true, and finally, until all religion is profaned as evil is mixed with good, and falsity with truth. When doubt is sowed into people's minds by skeptics, or people become averse due to religious fanaticism, the power of spiritual truth declines, and evil becomes predominate. It is gradual, takes place over time - and many will probably be surprised to learn that the church has declined to such a state. These different spiritual states can be applied personally, perhaps to those who were first attracted to Christianity, but then left for a variety of reasons, until it is rejected in the final state. Or it can be applied to personal relationships, how they can successfully decline over time if one departs from love and truth. For Divine spiritual truth, in its essence, is universal.
There are two reactions people may have to this revelation concerning the four horsemen of the Apocalypse - to reject it entirely, or perhaps to see there is truth in it. Those who do see the truth will be a small remnant few, who will be rejected by others - these people are represented by "the souls of them that were slain for the word of God" that John sees in the spiritual world under the altar - they are consoled a bit by being given white robes, in that they will be protected by living according to the truth.
HIDDEN SYMBOLISM IN LORD OF THE RINGS
Tolkien, a Catholic, understood much of this symbolism, and it took him years to incorporate this stuff into Lord of the Rings. One can see that especially in the following scene, which one may compare to crossing of the Jordan river, the cleansing of falsehood by the water of truth, and how evils and falsehoods attempt to extinguish and kill any small remnant of the truth.
The year was 1920. A young teenager, Albert Coe, was paddling up a river by canoe with a friend in the wilderness of Canada. At one point Albert decided to go exploring an area of wilderness while his friend was elsewhere, when he heard a cry for help. A young man had fallen into a rocky cleft, pinned and unable to move. Albert used a log and rope to lift him out, and tended to his wounds. He was badly injured and could not walk on his own. Albert noticed that he was wearing a strange silver grey suit, and there was a control panel under his chest. He had been fishing, but when he asked how he got there, the man said he had arrived there by plane, even though there was no runway. He attempted to head back to the plane on his own, but almost stumbled, and Albert insisted that he at least assist him to reach his plane. He finally agreed, as long as he promised to keep their encounter secret and not tell their friend. They headed further into the wilderness. They came before a clearing, and right in front of them was the stranger's "plane" - a silver flying saucer. At this point Albert was a bit shocked, but this other man had lost a lot of blood and was losing consciousness. He told him to swear to secrecy, but all would be explained later. He helped him in, stepped back, and saw the saucer take off.
And so began a very strange friendship with a man who called himself "Xretsim" - which backwards spelled "Mister X." They would meet and go on fishing and camping trips, or at pre-arranged rendezvous points, and when they could not meet this "Mister X" would send letters as long as he promised to destroy them after he read it. Finally, in 1965, they permitted him to reveal the contacts and he privately published a book of a few hundred copies which he sold at speaking engagements. In the late seventies UFO researcher Wendelle Stevens got in touch with Albert Coe, and republished the work under the title, UFO Contact from Planet Norca.
As is the case with most "contactees," Albert Coe was met with skepticism and ridicule:
"Of course, in some instances, I have been classified as a nut and in the opinion of one commentator, under the influence of a con man for forty-seven years. An eminent scientist considered the book as scientific mumbo-jumbo, designed to confuse; but their memories appear to be very short, as they forget that a few years ago they would have been categorized in the realm of the unbalanced and perhaps their findings condemned as works of the devil." (p. 204)
If true, the case is highly unusual, occurring long before the UFO contactee movement of the 1950s in which flying saucers were regularly in the news, especially after the flyby of UFOs by the White House in 1952. Jet fighters were launched and they could not even approach them. In 1920 no one had ever seen a flying saucer. So it is a hoax? A man misled by a mysterious Mister X? Is it all just "scientific mumbo-jumbo"?
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON TAU CETI
In 1967, Albert Coe had absolutely no shred of proof for his story. But it is now 2014. I picked up the book for some light entertainment, but as I read it certain statements began to jump out. When I finished it, my question was not, is this true or not, but rather, how come no one has noticed this? So first, lets cover some verifiable scientific facts, which were not known in 1967.
Mister X (or "Zret," as Albert called him) claimed that he came from the planet Venus, but originally, many thousands of years ago, they had emigrated there from their dying planet Norca, which orbited the star Tau Ceti. So we shall begin there:
"After supper we stretched out in front of the campfire and Zret said, "Tonight I am going to take you on an imaginary journey in a `Norca Ship' that will carry us 20,000 years back in time and far into the great void of space, some seventy million, million miles from our solar system to a planet, once endearing called `Norca', that orbits the star you know as Tau Ceti and in a related story, from the archives of our history, we will relive an incredible saga of a very ancient and highly advanced race of beings, my ancestors, who dwelled on this planet." (p. 114-115)
This was said in 1920, and the book was published in 1967. So how far is Tau Ceti from our solar system? Actually, throughout the years there have been a variety of estimates, as follows (from Wikipedia):
Non-trigonometric distance estimates are marked in italic. The best estimate is marked in bold.
So the best estimate for the distance between our solar system is 11.905 light years. So let's do the math. One light year is 5,878,639,984,454 miles, thus 11.905 light years is:
69,985,209,014,922 miles
And this, of course, is almost exactly seventy million, million miles. But in 1970, the estimate was 11.77 light years, which is 69,191,592,617,024 miles. In 1991 the estimate got worse, 11.4 light years, which is 67,016,495,822,776 miles. I am not even sure what the estimate was in 1967, much less in 1920.
Tau Ceti is similar to our Sun, but only 78% of our Sun's mass. From spectral analysis, we also now know that Tau Ceti is metal deficient. This indicates that Tau Ceti is much older than our Sun, so perhaps there was a greater chance for a civilization to evolve to an advanced state there.
Zret described a huge spacecraft that had approached the solar system of Tau Ceti in their ancient history, and provides several details concerning the solar system:
"The disc straight ahead, near the top of the frame, that looks in size like a shiny half dollar, is the seventh or outer planet Ahreeca whose orbital Aphelion is eight hundred twenty-nine million miles and the mean distance of the other six planets graduating down to thirty-seven million miles for Ne-Neeea, the smaller and closest planet to the sun." (p. 155)
"Norca's mean orbit is eighty-five million miles from the sun and is about seven-eights the size of Earth or seven thousand miles in diameter." (p. 156)
"If you watch very closely you will occasionally see four flickers of light, beyond but following its curvature. These are the four moons of Norca, the larger and outer one, a natural moon, similar to your moon and the other three are mechanical bodies, products of man’s brain, that were designed to curtail evaporation by retarding the fast moving molecules that steal away as atmospheric gas; to stimulate moisture and temper the sharp differential of night time cold and heat of the day that become part of a dying planet’s physics, under duress of thinning atmosphere and escape of infra red light." (p. 157)
The reference to artificial moons is interesting. In Extraterrestrial Contact with Koldas, one of the transmissions described the moon Triton orbiting Neptune as an artificial moon. Early observations of Tau Ceti indicated that there was 10 times as much dust in that solar system than ours. However the kicker came on December 19, 2012, when evidence was presented that there were at least 5 planets orbiting Tau Ceti. The planetary characteristics are as follows (see Signals embedded in the radial velocity noise. Periodic variations in the tau Ceti velocities):
Returning to the story of Zret, or "Mister X," the closest and smallest planet has an average distance of 37,000,000 miles from Tau Ceti, which is 0.398 AU. This is almost within range of the estimate for Tau Ceti d, which has an average orbit of 0.374 ± 0.02 AU. This would indicate that planets Tau Ceti b and Tau Ceti c are false positives.
What is of interest with this observation are the planets Tau Ceti e and Tau Ceti f. Both are in the habitable zone (from Wikipedia):
Tau Ceti e, appears to orbit about half as far from Tau Ceti as the Earth does from the Sun. With Tau Ceti's luminosity of 52% that of the Sun and a distance from the star of 0.552 AU, the planet would receive 1.71 times as much stellar radiation as Earth does, slightly less than Venus with 1.91 times Earth's. Nevertheless, some research places it within the star's habitable zone. Planetary Habitability Laboratory has calculated that Tau Ceti f, which would receive 28.5% as much starlight as Earth, compared to Mars with 43%, would be narrowly within the habitable zone of the star as well.
So which planet is potentially the planet Norca as described by Mister X? Norca's mean orbit is said to be 85,000,000 miles or 0.91 AU. This is in between Tau Ceti e and Tau Ceti f. So which is it? I think it is Tau Ceti f. At the edge of habitability zone, Tau Ceti f would tend to have a colder temperature that earth. And indeed this fits Mister X's description of the surface of the planet Norca, as seen from an approaching space craft, beginning from its North Pole:
"The glare of the ice is quite intense but the horizontal curvature is very distinct and in proceeding southward, our altitude and speed will gradually decrease, as objects start to take form, The dark mounds and spears are mountains jutting through glacial fields, the yellowish tinge is mist, rising from melting ice sheets, for the planet is still basking under the influence of a warming trend in this glaciation era. Directly below us now are edges of a receding frozen world and you can see great cascades of pale greenish yellow water tumbling down its sides and gushing from beneath ice field and glacier. The interspersed black rolling waves are storm clouds, pouring out their contingent, in torrential rain squalls; streams, lakes and shallow inland seas are the main pattern of the landscape, but the green of vegetation is becoming evident and then blends into the darker green of the forests. This belt is not too extensive and within four hundred miles we will pass over its ragged border line, that appears as short fingers and peninsulars of fertile soil, with its plant life, protruding into the yellow brown dust, sand and rock of a desolate area that covers the entire equatorial zone, for it has long ago dehydrated." (p. 157)
According to the finding from 2012, here are their relative sizes compared to earth:
According to the finding, Tau Ceti f is too big. However it was said four moons orbit Norca, and if this is true, that could possibly give a larger mass reading for Tau Ceti f. So it is possible that Tau Ceti f is smaller, seven-eighths the size of earth. My educated guess: Tau Ceti f is the planet Norca.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON MARS
Long ago the planet Norca was increasingly becoming uninhabitable, and their scientists did a survey of nearest stars and decided to evacuate what remained of the population on a destination towards Earth, a water bearing world. This expedition, carefully planned over many years, ended with disastrous results. Due to a miscalculation, at the end of their voyage many ships were destroyed, caught in the gravitational pull towards the Sun or Jupiter. One however managed to survive and crash landed on Mars. The description of Mars is rather detailed and surprising:
"...there was water, not overly abundant, with higher atmospheric pressure both to the 'North' and the 'South,' with some plant and small animal life, predominated by the rodent and reptile families, a few specie of fish and millions of insects, but no trace of humanoid form. There were also shallow ice caps at either pole that represented a dormant reservoir to be tapped through engineering technique. The planet did not appear in an exact category of embracing extinction, but rather in the essence of `marking time' in an arrest from natural deterioration. The span duration that it would remain in this state, could not be immediately determined, but at best, it promised no paradise."" (p. 171)
So, there was - and perhaps is - life on Mars. The first successful exploration of Mars took place in July 1965 when Mariner 4 flew by Mars, close to the time when the book was published. It confirmed a desolate landscape at the time, surprising many. However confirmation of water on Mars, plus its polar ice caps, has only recently been confirmed.
At the time of the contact with Albert Coe, Zret said that some of his people were still on Mars, in one or more underground bases. In 1989 the Russian probe Phobos 2 had taken infrared pictures of an underground city on Mars, as well as caught pictures of a large cylindrical UFO in the vicinity of the moon Phobos before it mysteriously malfunctioned. See The Phobos Incident. NASA, in reality, has more on its mind than just drilling rocks and taking soil samples on Mars. Perhaps more important, the Curiosity mission showed how to deliver large payloads to Mars. The Mars One program may be much further ahead in its program of colonization than we think. There have been whistle blowers that have come forward to that effect.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON VENUS
When Albert Coe met this mysterious Mister X, he said he came from Venus:
"Our home is quite simple to explain and is actually two worlds, one the planet Mars, nearing the end of an evolutionary life and the other planet Venus, younger in evolutionary processes than Earth, but its higher regions are not too drastically different than the environment here. The long and intricate details will have to await future discussion." (p. 68)
We now know that Venus is extremely hot, and cannot support life on its surface. So again, as with Mars, the dwelling is probably underground. But do the "higher regions" of Venus have an earth-like environment? Probes which measured the atmosphere and surface of Venus began in 1970 after the book was published. What we now know is that the upper atmosphere of Venus is indeed earth-like and may support life. From Will We Build Colonies That Float Over Venus:
This idea dates back to the Russians in the 1970s. The surface of Venus is far too hot, and the atmosphere too dense, for Earth life. However, our air is a lifting gas on Venus with about half the lifting power of helium on Eath. A habitat filled with normal air will float high in the dense Venus atmosphere, The atmospheric pressure there is the same as Earth sea level (1 bar). Temperatures are perfect for Earth life too, just over 0°C.
Also, just as weather balloons naturally rise to their operating level high in our atmosphere - and don't need to be engineered to hold in high pressures, so it works in the same way for our habitats on Venus. They float at a level where the pressure is equal inside and out, and can be of light construction. It is arguably the most hospitable region for humanity in our solar system, outside of Earth itself.
Nothing was known of the upper atmosphere of Venus when the book was published. At the beginning of the book there is a quote from a newspaper article in the late 70s where Albert Coe took this statement to mean that they dwelt in the high mountains of Venus. Still today, few people in the public know that the upper atmosphere of Venus is very close to that of Earth.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON DARK MATTER
There is this statement concerning the matter of the universe by "Mister X":
"Electronic survey of cosmic dimension, discloses a magnitude of thousands of millions of ‘light years,’ composing a chaotic cauldron of uncontrolled energy, in unceasing, restless motion and all the galaxies, gradating to the suns and planets, with their complement of inorganic and organic bodies, comprise less than one percent of this energy mass." (p. 83)
Ordinary matter that science knows about, both inorganic and organic, is known as baryonic matter. The above statement is stating that the entire universe is composed of less than 1% of baryonic matter. Current scientific estimates are that 4.9% of the entire universe is baryonic matter; the rest is "dark matter" or "dark energy," as follows:
So when did science make this estimate, that the entire universe is composed of only 4.9% baryonic matter? It was not until 1980 that astronomers determined that galaxies contain more dark matter than ordinary matter. Anyone can check this. It was not known in 1967, much less in 1920. And even though this was determined in 1980, at the time no one knew how to interpret the data - scientists assumed that there must be some other body of ordinary baryonic matter that we were not seeing. This is still an active area of research in cosmology and particle physics. So it remain to be seen if the current estimate of 4.9% should be less than 1%.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON EVOLUTION
There is much information given on the evolutionary history of the earth, with timelines. I took note of this one:
"By far, the older of these living fossils, is the curious little character that is often tossed up on the beach, as he grubs the bottom, under tide waters for worms. etc., and commonly called the Horseshoe Crab. Actually he is not a crab but a venerable ancestor of the branching Spider clan and reached his peak of evolvement, as he is today, more than two galactic revolutions ago." (p. 89)
At the time "Mister X" estimated that one galactic revolution is about 223 million years, and current estimates are between 225-250 million years. The Horseshoe crab is a marine arthropod which according to modern estimates reached its form 450 million years ago:
The Horseshoe Crab, as said above, is now recognized as the ancient ancestor of the modern terrestrial spider. But was this known when the book was published? Horseshoe crabs belong to the modern subphylum of Chelicerata. So when was Chelicerata first recognized as the ancestor of the spider? I checked a journal called Arthropod Relationships, issue 55, which contains the article "The early history and phylogeny of the chelicerates" by J.A. Dunlop and P.A. Selden. It goes into the history of the scientific classification in much detail beginning from the year 1881. Finally found this statement:
"Kraus (1976) argued that Merostomata represented an aquatic grade of chelicerate, rather than a discrete taxon and Bergstrom (1979) further suggested that Arachnida [spiders] could simply represent terrestrial chelicerates." (p. 222)
Thus it was not until 1979 that it was first suggested by scientists that the Horseshoe Crab is the ancestor of the terrestrial spider. However in the 1990s further papers were introduced that cast doubt on this, with research stating that they are one monophyletic group (which is the scientific way of saying, "we do not know which came first"). Research on this is ongoing, and I had to pull out another book Fossil Arachnids, where I found this from research as recent as 2011:
"Traditionally, horseshoe crabs and eurypterids were placed together as the Merostomata... There is now increasing evidence eurypterids are closer to arachnids. ...chasmastaspids muddy the waters by preserving characteristics common with both horseshoe crabs and eurypterids." (p. 18)
There is then discussion of a theory from 2006 that arachnids evolved their lungs once, thus terrestrial spiders share a common ancestor, but the research does not reach a conclusion. Research on this is ongoing based upon molecular phylogenetics (e.g., Regier, 2010), but it is hard to recover as some main lines of the arachnids became extinct long ago. However if one looks at the fossil record, whereas Horseshoe crabs appear 450 million years ago, spiders appear later at 430 million years ago.
A THEORY OF THE UNIVERSAL NUCLEUS
One thing that prevails in the discourse of "Mister X" is discussion of the relationship between the position of a solar system in its rotation around its galaxy and the "Universal Nucleus." At first I thought he was referring to the black hole at the center of each galaxy. But no, he is referring to a "Universal Nucleus" at the center of the universe. Current theory is that there is no center of the universe due to uniform background cosmic radiation (see Where is the centre of the universe?, and History of the Center of the Universe). From where we are, everything looks the same everywhere we look, so the conclusion is that there is no center.
So this is completely unconfirmed by our modern science, and I can find no theory that even comes close to this. The "Universal Nucleus," whatever it is, warps magnetic line of force:
"...over long stretches of time, there are fluctuations in galactic spin and orbital velocity, as it often weaves a zig zag course due to pulsation of Nucleus energy flux that warps the magnetic line of force, in which it travels..." (p. 91)
The Universal Nucleus also exerts a force on all solar systems in a galaxy, depending on its position in its rotation around the galactic center, helping in the creation of mountains on a planet at certain times in their history (p. 92). So what is it? There is this later statement:
"To be more specific the Nucleus is a tremendous vehicle of motion, comprising pure energy and at absolute zero. A tremendous energy outpouring gives birth to the electron and proton, at its face and as they are bent into the magnetic lines of force, surrounding the Nucleus, their mating creates the Hydrogen Atoms, foundation blocks of all matter for through a fusion by synthesis, the primal suns are formulated, then suns and planets in the eventual grouping of galaxies. In this action of synthesis and the suns of the galaxies they form, will be found the only ‘Heat' in the Universe. The great ice ages occur in this closer proximity to the Nucleus, because a spiral arm is pulled out to its farthest extreme from the bulk of the galaxy and the average sun is not hot enough to completely offset this direct impact of its icy breath." (p. 115-116)
I read this that the Universal Nucleus is a source of motion, constantly creates matter, and the areas where the galaxy approaches the direction of the Universal Nucleus the systems experience more cold. This reminds me of one theory that is an utter mystery to modern science: Dark Energy. From wikipedia:
"Inphysical cosmologyandastronomy,dark energyis ahypotheticalform ofenergywhich permeates all of space and tends to acceleratetheexpansion of the universe.Dark energy is the most accepted hypothesis to explain the observations since the 1990s indicating that the universe isexpandingat anaccelerating rate. ...Two proposed forms for dark energy are thecosmological constant, aconstantenergy density filling space homogeneously,and scalar fieldssuch asquintessenceormoduli,dynamicquantities whose energy density can vary in time and space. Contributions from scalar fields that are constant in space are usually also included in the cosmological constant. The cosmological constant can be formulated to be equivalent tovacuum energy. Scalar fields that do change in space can be difficult to distinguish from a cosmological constant because the change may be extremely slow."
The universe is not just expanding, it it accelerating, and scientists don't know why and just call it "dark energy". This only came up in the 1990s, and is still a topic of research and debate. Perhaps it is possible that a "Universal Nucleus" at the center of the universe is responsible for this dark energy, pushing galaxies causing an acceleration? It makes sense. If so, dark energy is not uniform, but varies according to galactic motion.
Note that if this theory of the Universal Nucleus is related to the modern theory of Dark Energy, the Universal Nucleus is related to the cosmological constant, which is the value of the energy density in vacuum space. And indeed, "Mister X" does mention the cosmological constant in relation to Albert Einstein:
"...in his theory of a “Cosmological Constant” came upon the core of the riddle. We have long puzzled, as to reason, for abandoning this idea as his, ‘greatest mistake,’ when all mathematical and especially his now, world famous equation, point to this one and only conclusion." (p. 211)
Then later, mentions that the cosmological constant is related to the concept of the Universal Nucleus:
"He seemed unable to put his finger on the "Nucleus."" (p. 212)
And then there is this other description, which may indicate the the Universal Nucleus is causing the acceleration of the galaxies:
"...combining a spectrographic analysis of galactic conformity, with the partial outline of the ‘Nucleus’ on impulse graphs, when carried out in the symmetry of nature, defines a slightly flattened. egg shaped sphere, with the narrow end in the direction that the galaxies are moving." (p. 214)
This is similar to the "cosmic egg" that appears in so many ancient myths. Here is a quote from the Finnish Kalevela:
One egg's lower half transformed
And became the earth below,
And its upper half transmuted
And became the sky above;
From the yolk the sun was made,
Light of day to shine upon us;
From the white the moon was formed,
Light of night to gleam above us;
All the colored brighter bits
Rose to be the stars of heaven
And the darker crumbs changed into
Clouds and cloudlets in the sky.
So as of yet, this theory of the Universal Nucleus is unconfirmed, but seems to be similar to the modern concept of Dark Energy to explain the acceleration of the universe.
The account of Albert Coe with an extraterrestrial from Venus, who claimed they originated from Tau Ceti, has largely been forgotten. At the time there was no scientific knowledge to verify it, and even today some of the statements are in areas of current scientific research. I was quite surprised to find such independent evidence that indicates that this account may in fact be true. How else to explain the knowledge that was not known at the time?
OTHER ENCOUNTERS WITH EXTRATERRESTRIALS FROM TAU CETI
From the above findings, I decided to do a search on other reported encounters of extraterrestrials from Tau Ceti, and the account I uncovered is a bit disturbing. The report first appeared in the Spring 1991 UFO JOURNAL OF FACTS from researcher Frank Crawford. This story originated from a witness under the name of "Oscar" who said he was involved in a UFO crash retrieval while in the military, under the office of the Naval O.S.S. He was contacted from a lead provided by the nuclear physicist and Ufologist, Stanton Friedman. He said he was dispatched to a base in North Dakota, where the saucer was resting on heavy jack stands in a hangar. The following are excerpts of the account from Secrets of the Mojave:
"’The craft had crashed near Phoenix, Arizona and was moved to this North Dakota base. Two dead alien bodies with fatal radiation exposure were found outside the craft. I reflected on my O.S.S. Training for crash retrieval and remembered thinking. ’Why bother, we will never get a chance to be involved in anything that exciting.’ Well, not only was I involved, I was the security team leader. This meant that when the craft was opened I would be the first one inside! After all, one does not send in a high ranking officer or a chief scientist to possibly encounter an alien booby trap or extraterrestrial virus. Come to think of it, the prospects did not excite me either. As Professor Bear prepared his ultrasonic sound generators for opening the craft, my apprehension turned to intensity; after all, this was what my training was for.
"’As ’the Bear’ tuned his equipment the smooth solid metal surface of the craft began to ripple like when you throw a stone in the water. When the ripples seemed to gain harmonic stability the now liquid metal parted in a circular iris-like fashion. As I stepped inside I noticed a fresh pine scent and a strange smoothness to everything. The interior was rounded off and continued with no seams or rivets. It was as if the walls, floor and ceiling were formed out of one piece of metal. Even a table in the center of the craft looked as though it had been pushed up out of the floor. What appeared to be control panels had no knobs, switches or dials. There were strange symbols highlighting these futuristic yet simple consoles.
"’The outside of the craft had no apparent damage yet the interior showed some distortion, possibly from the crash. Next to one of the panels I could see something that would challenge my training and change my perceptions of reality forever. The craft was just another piece of hardware, but seated next to the panel was a human! It’s gender was obviously male. Aside from his unusual dress he could have walked past you at a grocery store and not command much attention. Upon noticing some injuries about his head I instinctively and quickly moved toward him to help. His skin was a bronze color, reminiscent of Mediterranean or South American cultures. His hair was similarly brown and very short in a Roman or crew style cut. The only real difference in appearance from earth humans were that his ears were slightly pointed...
"’He was conscious and in great pain. One leg was partially pinned by the shifting interior. I was examining cuts on his cheek and lip when I first touched him. An overwhelming feeling of compassion came over me as I heard his voice in my head. I could understand him clearly even though his mouth did not move. The communication was strictly telepathic..."
"’I perceived his fear of being harmed and told him that I would not let anyone hurt him. Suddenly, a voice from the doorway refocused my attention on the duties at hand.
"’I called back that we had a live one. The craft filled with gloved and masked medical personnel to help free the occupant. He was quickly carried outside and placed on a gurney. I remarked that he felt heavy for his size and a few others that had assisted agreed. As the alien was whisked off for medical attention, Professor Bear examined the inside of the craft. He found what he thought was a star map depicting the constellation Eridanus and wondered if that might be where the alien was from. After a brief discussion concerning the nature of the communications, Bear asked me to accompany him to the medical lab. As we talked along the way I referred to the alien being as ’Hank.’ The professor asked if that was the name the alien had given me.
"I explained that it was not and that I had chosen that nickname based on it’s native American reference to a ’troubled spirit.’ The professor smiled and said, ’Hank it is,’ and the name seemed to immediately stick. In the antiseptic, impersonal medical room Hank’s discomfort was compounded by his complete undressing. While still in great pain he was examined from head to toe. No stone was left unturned, so to speak. They treated him as if he were a baby of some rare animal species being first born into captivity. It became evident that Hank could not communicate with everyone involved so I was asked to be translator. I had no trouble understanding that the normal anesthetics we were administering had little or no effect. Suddenly, with Hank’s discomfort still a concern, everyone’s attention became divided between the being and a new person arriving on the scene.
"’This new person was obviously important yet seemed to make everyone uneasy. Even Hank recoiled in fear when he came close. He barked a few stern orders and several people, myself included, marched into a nearby conference room. The man introduced himself as Frank Drake and told us he was the head of the operation. The reports would hence forth be titled ’Project OSMA’ (with an ’S’)...’
The researcher Frank Crawford now comments on the account:
"As Oscar told the story that began this article it became obvious that, because of his military background, the name given was for his protection. The account unfolded further to reveal horrible injustices to Hank and to Oscar himself. At the direction of Drake the team conducted medical experiments such as spinal taps, marrow sampling, taking organ specimens and other exploratory surgery on Hank WITHOUT anesthesia. Oscar had spent many hours over three months communicating with and growing close to the alien. One day he stepped between Drake and Hank with his .45 cal. pistol drawn and demanded an end to the torture. Drake withdrew but the next morning Oscar had new orders to depart immediately for Saint Albans Hospital in Radford, Va., where he was incarcerated for debriefing. He remained isolated for several months until the efforts of Lt.(?) Charles Turner, Oscar’s Commanding Officer, got him to move to a psychiatric ward. His family, who had now been out of touch with him for almost three months, was told that Oscar had suffered a head injury during a submarine accident. After spending time under psychiatric care, which would damage his military record, he was oddly enough given an honorable discharge."
So where did this extraterrestrial originate? Frank Crawford commented further:
"The pattern from the panel inside the ship was confirmed by Rapp to match stars of the constellation Eridanus as seen FROM EARTH. It was later confirmed by Hank that the stars of origin of his people were Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani. In later sessions Oscar discussed some reasons for the presence of the aliens. He said THEY DO NOT LIKE THE SITUATION WITH SOME OF THE SMALL GREY ALIENS. He corrected us when we used the term ’grey’ and said that they are actually white. The Tau Cetians feel that the abductions being carried out by some of the Greys ARE A GREAT INJUSTICE TO HUMANITY. ’THEY ARE A PARASITIC RACE THAT HAS AND IS PREYING ON HUMAN CIVILIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE,’Oscar relayed. He added that our government’s involvement with the grays IS VERY DANGEROUS AND OUT OF CONTROL... Oscar is ADAMANT that the bug people are using HUMAN FLUIDS FOR SUSTENANCE. They feed by immersing their arms in vats and/or rubbing the fluids on their bodies. HE CLAIMS THAT THEY ARE ALSO KIDNAPPING CHILDREN..."
Some comments of mine on this account. I had previously discussed some of the testimony of Sergeant Clifford Stone, another military witness who stated that he was involved in UFO crash retrievals, and communicating telepathically to any live occupants. He appeared on the censored Disney documentary on extraterrestrials. The report of a medical experiments on this extraterrestrial without anaesthesia is corroborated somewhat in the blog post The Extraterrestrial Science of Dr. Michael Wolf:
"Dr. Michael Wolf apparently saw autopsy tapes where the alien was strapped to the table, implying that it may have still been alive. This was abhorrent to him, thus the project was initiated to return them home."
As for the report of the small grey aliens, that is corroborated by hundreds of witnesses who have been reporting their abductions to other researchers. In the transmissions as reported in Extraterrestrial Contact with Koldas, they again warned about a hostile race that had been abducting humans. For another account concerning the star system Epsilon Eridani, see Extraterrestrial Contact from Epsilon Eridani and Emanuel Swedenborg. However the big surprise here is the account that the person in charge of the crash retrieval operation was Frank Drake, an astronomer who pioneered project OZMA in 1960, the predecessor to project SETI to search for extraterrestrial life. As it turns out, in 1960 he had decided to focus the attention of the project to two systems: Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani. If one looks at the background of Frank Drake, he received his training on a Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship. Allegedly the U.S. Navy was in charge of this UFO crash retrieval operation. He is the author of the famed Drake Equation.
MYTHS OF ELVES AND LORD OF THE RINGS
So we have here extraterrestrials from Tau Ceti, who long ago settled Venus and Mars and try to remain anonymous. This obviously raises more questions than answers here, and I have not been able to cover the full account of Albert Coe's encounter beginning in 1920. So there are human like extraterrestrials, some with pointed ears, who originate from an ice planet orbiting Tau Ceti. I have only concentrated on what we can discover from verifiable facts, as the story is so unbelievable - it is as if I am telling people, Yes, elves really do exist. Yes, Santa Claus is real. Many children are taught to believe in Santa Claus and it is quite traumatic for them when they are told he is not real. Adults would probably react in the same way if confronted with a real-life elf, whom they thought were only a part of imaginary fairy stories.
The myths of elves originate from old Germanic and Scandinavian countries, areas which have a colder climate. According to Albert Coe, Mister X looked like someone his age, but he told him in fact he was 304 years older than him. He warned Albert of many dangers that men on earth would face in the future if they should not change their course of action. This reminds me of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, where the race of elves dwell in forests hidden from men, avoiding contact, and live to an extreme long age. Even the elf-queen Galadriel communicated telepathically, and warned Frodo of future things to come:
Towards the end Galadriel reveals that she is also a ring bearer. She says, "This is Nenya, the ring of Adamant, and I am its keeper." Adamant means diamond, and the ring was also known as the Ring of Water. This reminds me of a description that Mister X gave to Albert Coe concerning the solar system of Tau Ceti:
"The disc straight ahead, near the top of the frame, that looks in size like a shiny half dollar, is the seventh or outer planet Ahreeca whose orbital Aphelion is eight hundred twenty-nine million miles and the mean distance of the other six planets graduating down to thirty-seven million miles for Ne-Neeea, the smaller and closest planet to the sun." (p. 155)
Although we call the star "Tau Ceti," it has a more ancient name:
"It has the proper name Durre Menthor, which comes from the Arabic Al Durr' Al-Manthūur (الدرر المنثور), meaning The Scattered Pearls (of the Broken Necklace)."
Strangely, this reminds me of a precognitive dream I had long ago in which this phrase was given: the Eye of Mentar. After I had that dream I searched high and low for the name meaning of "Mentar" but just could not find it. I covered this dream a while ago in the blog post The Hidden Secret of the Lord of the Rings, in which I traced the name to another word that appears in Lord of the Rings, Meneldor (see also the label "Lord of the Rings" in this blog).This is similar to the name Durre Menthor of Tau Ceti. Certainly, quite a strange coincidence.
