The Prophecy of September 11 and Obama

Well the rumor mill of the internet is beginning to sprout concerning the prophecies of a blind woman named Vanga, who lived from 1911 to 1996 in Bulgaria.  Bulgaria and Russia have taken a keen interest in her visions, and apparently several heads of state came to visit her during her lifetime.  Among her predictions:

This one was made in 1980:

"At the turn of the century, in August of 1999 or 2000, Kursk will be covered with water, and the whole world will be weeping over it."

The Russian sub Kursk perished in an accident in August 2000.  Until this event happened, everyone had assumed that the city Kursk would sink beneath the ocean.  Similar to Nostradamus, many of her prophecies can not be deciphered until after the event has occurred.

This one was made in 1989:

"Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing."

This was obviously fulfilled when planes (the "steel birds") crashed into the twin towers which then collapsed (the "brethren will fall").  The reference to "bush" is interesting, considering this occurred after Bush was elected.  As for the wolves, it is interesting to note that Nostradamus often uses the symbol of the wolf to refer to America.  Here is another:

"Everything melts away like ice yet the glory of Vladimir, the glory of Russia are the only things that will remain. Russia will not only survive, it will dominate the world."

This refers to global warming, the melting of the ice caps, and the coming of Vladimir Putin, who has turned Russia around after the fall of the Soviet Union.  Those who have been reading my blog will have seen that Russia is destined to rise in power, as America declines...

But after all this, here is the clincher:

"Vanga predicted a black man to become the 44th U.S. President, and this President will be the last one because America will freeze up or go down in the economics. It probably can divide into the North and South states."

The 44th President of the United States - is Obama.  I was shocked to see this.  Not only that, she seems to have foreseen our economic crisis, and a possible civil war.  This could be a war between the rich and poor, the capitalists and socialists, or a racial one.  Or all three.  I have not seen the original statements, the internet is known to be inaccurate on these matters, but in the visions of Anton Johansson (early 20th century) he was told that America would go through 5 future civil wars.  He also foresaw a resurgent Russia, one that would enter into an alliance with a socialist France and invade Sweden.

Note that I discovered this particular prophecy after I published the blog comparing Martin Luther King and Obama to Moses and Joshua who followed him.  Joshua, as we know, invaded Canaan, creating a sort of civil war throughout the land between the Gentiles and the Israeli invaders.  This was foreshadowed by the fall of the walls of Jericho - which in our time would be the fall of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York.  Jericho, at that time, was a central commercial trading center for the Middle East, just as New York is the center of finance in our day.  And all of our finances are falling apart.  I had long recognized a parallel between the World Trade Center and the Fall of Jericho, but never made all the connections.

Returning back to Vanga, the blind prophet, she seems to have predicted World War III, which would begin in 2010, involve the use of nuclear weapons, and lead to a depopulated Europe.  Europe would then fall to Muslim powers and occupy Rome, which is exactly what Nostradamus foresaw.  And the prophecy of Malachi seems to have foreseen that the present Pope will be the last one, or the next to last one.  However I would like to see the original prophecies that she made, before we jump to any conclusions, especially when it comes to dating events of the future.

Obama and the Promised Land

On April 3rd, 1968, Martin Luther King gave his last sermon, a sermon that has turned out to be more prophetic that many knew back then. It was entitled "I've been to the mountaintop" - like Moses, who stood on a mountaintop to see the promised land of Israel, King knew that like him he would not enter the promised land to see full equal rights for the black people. The next day, he was assassinated in Memphis Tennessee. As it was the year I was born, it would be much later in life where I would realize the importance of his work.

Israel had wandered 40 years in the desert to escape from slavery in Egypt, and 40 years later, Obama is now president elect of the United States - a historic change. So was King's sermon prophetic? It is looking like that is the case. Israel had dwelled in Egypt as slaves for a period of about 210 years - a time period that is often confused with the 400 year prophecy given to Abraham. Likewise, the time period from 1758 to 1968 was a 210 year period from the birth of an independant nation to Martin Luther King - a nation born with slavery, one of the greatest sins of America.

Expectations are high, but the obstacles are great. But like Joshua before him, God is on Obama's side.

It was back in the 18th century, where Swedenborg was given a grand vision of heaven, and was allowed to have direct communication with Jesus Christ. It was in the year 1757 where a Last Judgement was executed to bring about an end to the old Christianity, and usher in a new one. After many centuries, the Catholic and Protestant Churches had corrupted the original Christianity to such an extent that a new revelation was needed. One that would declare that there was one true God in one person, one that would declare that religion is life, and life is to do good, that life continues after death, and one which would provide proof that the Bible is Divinely inspired. More importantly, God is not a god of wrath, but He is Love itself. And we should love others based on our love for Him.

It is this revelation of Divine Inspiration, the revelation of the Word, which is the true Second Coming. But like the Jews in Jesus day, Swedenborg sadly foresaw that the revelation would go unnoticed and rejected by the Christian world of his day. Howevere Swedenborg was then given a rare prophetic vision, in which he was allowed to see the future - a future where further visions would be given, and a New Church would be born among the peoples of Africa.

Perhaps the election of Obama will help bring about change - not just for this nation, but for the New Church, which has long been hidden from view in the wilderness.
